Understanding obesity at any age

Event Details

Cafe Scientifique:
Hosted by Obesity Canada, Okanagan Local Chapter
Sponsored by the Institute for Healthy Living and Chronic Disease Prevention, and the BC Diabetes Research Network

Did you know that the Canadian Medical Association, American Medical Association and World Health Organization now consider obesity to be a chronic disease? However, clinical management and treatment are still not well understood by patients, healthcare providers, and the general public. Beyond its effects on physical health, obesity also affects peoples’ mental health and has significant impact on emotional and social well-being.

Please join us for a discussion about the latest research and clinical management guidelines that aim to understand and support healthy living for individuals with obesity.
