Navigation Tool for EDI

The Faculty’s Navigation tool provides students with information on definitions, policies, and EDI resources—both within FHSD and campus-wide.

In creating this tool, our objectives are to minimize misinformation, retelling experiences, and time spent navigating various websites. The tool also provides information on resources of support and connection.

The tool is available in two formats:

Learning RESOURCES and connection

As part of our commitment to fostering ongoing learning, we have highlighted learning opportunities and resources to find community, connection, and support. Resources are organized by Indigenous resources first, then other resources in alphabetical order.

Reports and Frameworks

We are committed to advancing dignity and human rights within teaching, learning, research, and practice. The selected reports and frameworks serve as powerful resources to guide our work, offering valuable insights and knowledge about responsibilities, and how to create safer environments.

Campus Resources

RESPECT is a digital magazine run by students at the University of British Columbia (UBC) to promote an immersive dialogue on equity, diversity and inclusion. The interdisciplinary project is supported by the Equity Enhancement Fund at UBC Okanagan.

Like an acrostic poem, RESPECT stands for Representation and Equity in Systemic Practices to Effect Change Today. RESPECT magazine may be your first opportunity to get published. It can also be an alternate way to share, react, collaborate, and inform our community.

Feedback and Suggestions

We recognize that language matters. The resources may have terms considered outdated or nuanced. As language evolves, it is best practice for us to revisit these terms and revise as needed. To provide feedback or recommendations on the language or resources posted on this site, please contact the EDI coordinator.
